Applying for Aid
You must meet the following criteria to be eligible:
- be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen,
- enroll in a degree-granting program, and
- meet all additional eligibility requirements.
Students desiring to apply for financial aid must complete the steps listed below.

| STEP ONE: |
You must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, commonly know as the FAFSA. The FAFSA is available on the internet at www.fafsa.ed.gov FAFSA forms are also available at all colleges, universities, and high schools across the nation. Look for your college's Title IV Federal School Code above to list it in Step Six on your FAFSA. Do not submit your FAFSA directly to our office, but either submit it electronically over the Internet (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) or mail your FAFSA form to the Federal Student Aid Programs using the envelope provided in the FAFSA booklet. |
| STEP TWO: | If contacted by the Financial Aid Office, you must submit all additionally requested documents to complete your file as soon as possible. Documents requested may include, but are not limited to: signed copy of your (and parents, if required) federal tax return, W-2 forms and proof of other untaxed income or benefits. Copies of your college academic transcripts from all previously attended colleges; Ability-To-Benefit test if you are a non-high school graduate; proof of registration with Selective Service; letter of clearance for a defaulted student loan; a copy of your social security card or Immigration and Naturalization Services documentation; etc. Do not submit documents to our office unless we request them. |
| STEP THREE: | We will determine your eligibility for financial aid based upon a review of your documentation once your file is complete. At that point, we will send you an offer of financial aid called an Award Letter. |
| PLEASE NOTE: | You are expected to have resources available for the purchase of books as financial aid checks are delayed until after the start of each semester. It may take up to 8 - 10 weeks to process your financial aid application during peak processing periods. You must plan accordingly. |
