College’s Reflection On These Charts
First to second year retention rates of first-time degree-seeking undergraduates
This data shows that students who enroll full-time are more likely to continue to the next semester than part-time students. While we recognize it can be difficult to enroll full-time while balancing life and work, the college has some innovative programs such as PACE which allows you to take two courses every 8 weeks so you can still graduate in two years. We also offer a variety of fully online degrees.

Graduation rates of full-time, first-time, degree/certificate-seeking undergraduates within normal time, and 150% and 200% of normal time to completion
This data shows what percentage of students graduate in two years, three years, or four years. While an associate degree is ideally meant to be finished in two years, not everyone is on the same journey and it’s perfectly ok if it takes you longer. You can see in the data while some students graduate in two years (100% of normal time), many more graduate in four years (200% of normal time). As stated earlier, enrolling full-time will increase your chances of graduating quicker, as well as taking courses during the summer. Another important element to graduating quicker is making sure you are picking the right courses. Sometimes students take longer to graduate because they take extra courses that do not count for their major. To ensure you’re taking the right courses, schedule an appointment with a counselor to create an education plan:

Graduation rates by gender and race/ethnicity
An important part of the college’s mission is to ensure students from all ethnicities and genders are successful here. Unfortunately, as you can see in the data, we still have work to do as not all student groups are succeeding equally. To ensure you are successful, the college provides many student support services. Check out this list, and feel free to reach out to any service that you feel may help you succeed. A great place to start is by meeting with a counselor, because in addition to helping you select the courses you need they can also guide you to services that you may be eligible for. Some services are popular and well known like tutoring, but there are other services you may not know about like EOPS which offer perks for qualified students such as free textbooks, priority registration, free parking, and a dedicated counselor.

In addition to these student support services, the college is exploring additional ways we can support you and achieve our goal of closing all equity gaps. These efforts are detailed in our equity plan, which you can find here:
