The VITA program has operated for over 50 years. VITA sites work directly with the IRS to offer free tax help to people who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns, including:

• Households who generally make $60,000 or less

• Persons with disabilities; and

• Limited English-speaking taxpayers

You can have your taxes prepared while you wait on the Moorpark campus or virtually through a secure web-based portal.  We will also have drop off and pick up options.

VITA looks great on your resume and teaches you basics of your own tax return, but also communication and organization skills that make you much more marketable to a potential employer.  Many professionals in the Accounting and Business fields participated in the VITA program in college. 

At Moorpark you have THREE options to participate in VITA:

1- Enroll in the 3 unit class
(ACCT M51 Volunteer Income Tax Assistance VITA)

2- Participate in a 1, 2 or 3 unit internship
(M80 Accounting Internship)

3- OR volunteer in this great program.
