DESIGN FUNDAMENTALS 

Design Fundamentals provides the student with a foundation in Design and Media Arts and an understanding of of the digital process when designing for print and screen. They will also engage in creative processes that combine art and technology to inform, persuade, organize, stimulate, locate, identify, attract attention and provide pleasure. These new skills will give the student the qualifications needed for entry level positions in Design and Media Arts industries, to start their own business, and/or for university transfer. DES M100 or DES M100H is strongly recommended. A Certificate of Achievement in Design Fundamentals (9 units) can also be earned upon completion of DES M100/H, DES M200 and DES M300.

BASIC CHARACTER  ANIMATION: COA

The Certificate of Achievement in Basic Character Animation offers students theoretical and hands-on experience in creating memorable characters, illustration, and creating a basic 2D animation rig to bring it to life. The certificate is geared for those who are interested in obtaining employable skills as professional animators, video content creators, educators, gamers, designers, or illustrators who work in the media and entertainment industry. The Certificate of Achievement may be completed in one year and serves as a professional development opportunity. Courses may be applied towards an associate in Media Arts degree. To earn a Certificate of Achievement in Basic Character Animation: Editing, students must complete a minimum of 18 units.
