PORTAL

• Your acceptance email will be sent to the email you used to create your OpenCCC Account when you applied
• The acceptance email contains a link to set up the portal
• Click on the link to activate your MyVCCCD student portal after your acceptance email is received
• Sometimes the acceptance email goes to an "Important," "Other," or "Junk" folder

FINANCIAL AID

• Apply for the Moorpark College Promise, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Act Application (CADAA), which could potentially get your tuition and fees paid for up to two years.
  • Noncredit Students: Do not need to apply
  • Dual Enrollment Students: Do not need to apply

ORIENTATION

• Complete the  New Student Orientation
  
  Moorpark College is committed to helping you achieve your academic success. We have developed our orientation program to provide you with an introduction and the necessary tools to get you started.

TRANSCRIPTS

• Submit official college transcripts to Admissions & Records so they are on file for counselors or for your Transcript Evaluation Request. 
• High school transcripts are not required for admission to the college.  High school graduation is self-certified under penalty of perjury on the application to the college.  Financial Aid may require proof of graduation for some students. 
• Unofficial college or high school transcripts can be used on your Request for Prerequisite Clearance 
• Information on your official Moorpark College transcript order can be found at www.moorparkcollege.edu/transcripts

PLAN YOUR CLASSES

• Visit Counseling Registration Self-Guided Workshop to review instructions on how to plan for courses as a new student.
  • Visit a counselor for a drop-in appointment to develop a 1^st semester educational plan.
  • Learn more about your Program of Study with Program Mapper
  • Learn more about Registration Planner: Select courses, list day and time availability, compare potential schedules, register classes, drop or withdraw courses by the published deadlines, and plan courses to register for the term in advance. 
  • Veteran or Active Duty Students:  Follow up with Veteran's Counselor by calling (805) 553-4607.
• Clear prerequisites
  • Prerequisites are enforced for all students

REGISTER

• Register for classes through the Registration Planner in the MyVCCCD portal

PAY FEES

• Check your financial aid awards through your MyVCCCD portal under the Financial Aid tab
• Pay fees (if no award is listed) or set up a payment plan
  • Veteran Students using GI Bill^®benefits: Speak to Admission & Records prior to paying any fees
  • Active Duty Students using Tuition Assistance: Speak to the Student Business Office prior to paying any fees
  • Noncredit Students: Noncredit courses are tuition free
  • Dual Enrollment Students: Are exempt from paying enrollment fees - All other fees apply

RESIDENCY

• Your acceptance email contains your residency determination.  for tuition purposes. 
• Residency determinations are based on your answers to application questions and determine the tuition rate for your classes.
• Sometimes the acceptance email goes to an "Important," "Other," or "Junk" folder
