In 2010, The Future of Nursing report issued by the Institute of Medicine advocated for all nurses to achieve higher degrees of learning in order to positively influence the health of their communities using their education. Although completion of the nursing program at Moorpark College will lead to an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), you are highly encouraged to continue your education to earn at least a (BSN). In addition to benefiting the health of clients and their families, BSN and MSN degrees expand the possibilities for advancement in your nursing career.
The Moorpark College nursing program has coordinated with several universities that allow concurrent enrollment so that you could be working towards a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree at the same time you are in the Moorpark College nursing program.
In addition to collaborative or concurrent enrollment BSN and MSN programs, there are many programs which offer the opportunity to earn a BSN after earning nursing licensure NCLEX. Students are encouraged to investigate numerous program options in order to find the best fit.
