Getting Started at Moorpark College

Students interested in enrolling must complete Moorpark College Application. We encourage students to use their personal email accounts when applying, as they will lose access to their high school email.

If you do not have any legal documents, under the citizenship section select “other.” Then, under visa type, select "other" or “no documents."  

• OR CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING TAX RECOMMENDATION: If you identify as a DACA recipient or have an ITIN, use your DACA Social Security Number or your ITIN, and under the citizenship section select “other.” For visa type, select “other.” Then, enter the issued date and expiration date of your DACA Social Security Number or ITIN.
• Please note, that you can also choose to not disclose your information at this time and will have the opportunity to do it while on-campus if you are interested.

Once completing your application, you will be classified as a "Non-Resident". Students who are classified as non-resident will receive additional forms you will need to submit in order to receive the in-state tuition rate.

You may still be eligible to pay in-state tuition if you meet the criteria for either/or of the options below:  

• If you identify as a DACA recipient, you can potentially be reclassified as a CA Resident. Download, read, fill out, gather the documents requested and submit the Residency Reclassification Request to the Admissions & Records office from your @my.vcccd.edu email to Krystle Sanchez, our Dreamers Liaison in Admissions and Records, to ksanchez@vcccd.edu and mcadmissions@vcccd.edu. As mentioned, you will require supporting documentation and should only be submitted if you meet all of the following criteria:  
• You currently hold an immigration status (like DACA) that is eligible to establish California Residency and you have had (or applied for) that status at least 366 days prior to the start of the term.  
• You have been physically present in California with the intent to make California your home for other than a temporary purpose at least a year day prior to the start of the term.

If you don’t meet that criteria, you may still be eligible to have your non-resident tuition waived. Assembly Bill 540 (AB 540) is an exemption from the payment of nonresident tuition if the student meets the criteria Download, read, fill out, gather the documents requested and submit the California Nonresident Tuition Exemption Request: AB 540 Form.

Undocumented/DREAMers students who are eligible for AB 540 are encouraged to complete a California Dream Act Application (CADAA) for state, emergency and financial aid consideration. 

If you have any questions regarding your CADAA application, students attend the Virtual Live Assistance hosted by the Moorpark College Financial Aid Office.  Undocumented/Dreamers students can also contact Graciela Sanchez via email at gsanchez@vcccd.edu.  

We strongly encourage students to connect with Academic Counseling in order to begin mapping out your courses for the semester. Rosa Sanchez and Marc Roaquin are our Undocumented Student counselors who can assist you with your academic and personal goals. New students are welcomed to complete our SCOR workshop, you are able to complete it using this link on Canvas.

We also encourage students to apply for EOP&S. 

To be eligible, a student must:   

• Be a resident of California or AB540 (Dream Act)

• Be enrolled as a full-time student (12+ units)  

     Note: Foster Youth (9+ units)-ACCESS students (6+ units with a verification letter)

• Have less than 50 degree applicable units  

• Qualify to receive a California College Promise Grant A or B or C (with $0  EFC) and     (apply at CCCAPPLY)      

• Be educationally disadvantaged as defined by EOPS
