I can’t see my class in CANVAS!
Every professor has a different timeline for when they will open their Canvas to students. However, Canvas should be available to you on the first day of class. If not, you will want to verify on your Student Schedule Bill that you are enrolled in the course. This document is located in your my.vcccd.edu portal under “Student Records” and then “Student Schedule Bill.” If enrolled, you can email your instructor and cc: MCDualEnrollment@vcccd.edu.
What if I can’t participate in the first day of class?
Most professors will have a first-day assignment that will need to be completed. Some professors will drop a student (Instructor-Initiated Drops) from their section, if the student does not attend in-person or complete the first-day assignment. If you are unable to attend the first day of class, it is important that you email your instructor ahead of time to let them know the reason.
What do I do if I’m waitlisted?
When registering and a course is full, but taking students for the waitlist, you will answer “Yes” when it prompts you to join the waitlist. If you are not added to the course, by the first day of class, you will either attend the class in-person, or if online, reach out to the professor via email to ask if they will be adding students. If so, you will need an Add Code to enroll in the course. Only the professor can provide the Add Code. Can I take more than 11 units while in high school?
Dual Enrollment students may register for a maximum of eleven (11) units per semester. You may be subject to full tuition cost and fees if you withdraw from course(s) and enroll in additional units beyond 11 units.

What is Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC) and how can I find a ZTC class?
ZTC uses digital textbook and resource materials that are freely available and include items such as governmental resources, open education resources (OER), library databases, and other reputable material available at no cost online. You can find courses being offered ZTC in our Class Schedule by clicking on More Options and then clicking the circle, “YES” towards the end of the page, “Zero and low textbook cost courses.”
Where can I find my AP and/or IB score equivalencies to Moorpark College courses?
Can I get free tutoring at Moorpark College?
Yes! While you are enrolled at Moorpark College, you have access to our Tutoring and Learning Center, which offers both online and in-person tutoring.
Where can I find courses for my major?
A helpful guide would be using our Program Mappers. These are designed to help students explore our various certificate and degree offerings and ensure a timely path to completion.
Can I enroll in honor’s courses, as a dual enrollment student?
Yes, as long as you meet the prerequisite/corequisite and course requirements.
Do I need to take an assessment, watch the online orientation, and complete an ed plan?
Dual enrollment students do not receive priority registration. Therefore, you do not need to take the self-guided assessments (unless you are clearing a prerequisite for ENGL M01A), watch the online orientation, or enter an ed plan into DegreeWorks. However, going over these items will give you more information that may be useful as a Moorpark College dual enrollment student.
Can I take a summer dual enrollment course while I’m in my last semester of high school?
You will not be eligible for dual enrollment courses during the summer of high school graduation. Therefore, you will need to reapply to our college as a high school graduate as of June 30th to register for these courses.
Are there fee waivers?
If you are enrolled in non-CCAP courses, you may receive notice for payment of fees. Our Student Business Office does have petitions for the Health Fee Waiver and the Student Activity & Rep Fee Waiver.
