Email us your reference question at mcreference@vcccd.edu being as clear and specific as possible concerning your needs. Although reference librarians don’t do your research for you, they can suggest where and how to find information. It is often helpful to know why you are doing research: is it for a class, what is the assignment and other helpful information. Be sure to indicate any deadlines you have.
Who can use the email service?
Email reference help is available to Moorpark College faculty, staff, and students with email accounts.
When to expect a response?
Every attempt will be made to answer your question in 24 hours. If you send your email at 9am Tuesday morning, we’ll try to get back to you by 9am on Wednesday. Please try to take the Library’s open and closed hours into account.
In-person
You may speak with a librarian in-person during regular library building hours.
Appointment
The Appointment with a Librarian service allows you to reserve appointments with librarians for up to one hour of uninterrupted, personalized research assistance.
Librarians can assist you with:
- Evaluating sources
- Citing your sources
- Developing keywords
- How to use the databases
- Finding books and eBooks
