Raider Central Diaper Assistance Program

In addition to food and hygiene products, we provide diaper assistance, offering up to 10 free diapers a week (sizes 1-6 months) and two packs of wipes a month for each dependent child.

Diapers and wipes are available while supplies last, and brand names may vary.

Moorpark College can now grant priority registration to student parents. Eligible student parents will be able to register for classes on the first day of priority registration for the upcoming terms.

The CalWORKs program provides assistance to continuing or new students who are receiving TANF/CalWORKs (Cash Aid) benefits. They offer academic counseling, priority registration, and welfare-to-work advocacy with professional development workshops. They also provide liaison with county social services, on/off-campus program referrals, work-study opportunities, and support for transportation and educational supplies, along with career and personal counseling in a safe, confidential environment for welfare-to-work transitional students.

Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) is a state funded program designed to encourage the enrollment, retention, and the transfer of students challenged by language, social, economic (federal poverty guidelines), and educational disadvantages, and to facilitate the successful completion of their goals and objectives in college.

Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE) offers additional support services to EOPS students who are single parent on TANF (Transitional Assistance for Needy Families) and to break the welfare dependency cycle by completing college level educational training programs, and therefore, become more employable and economically self-sufficient.

As a Moorpark College student-parent you may qualify for childcare assistance through CCAMPIS funding. Scholarships will provide financial assistance for on-campus childcare services to low-income MC students pursuing post-secondary education. Scholarships awards will be based on a sliding income scale, availability of funds, slots available at Moorpark College Child Development Center, and the number of eligible applicants. WIC is a health and nutrition program for babies, children under 5, pregnant women, and new mothers. WIC provides nutrition education as well as benefits to buy healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables, whole grains, milk, eggs, bread, cereal, juice, peanut butter, soy milk, tofu and more!

The California Earned Income Tax Credit (CalEITC) offers support for low-income, working Californians. Ventura County's Affordable Housing Program encompasses rental and for-sale housing units throughout the city that are restricted in cost in order to be affordable to low- and moderate-income families. Individuals meeting the eligibility criteria may be able to rent or purchase an affordable unit, depending on availability. Certain restrictions are attached to affordable units in order to maintain long-term affordability.
