About: 
The Associated Students of Moorpark College (ASMC) Earn & Learn Scholarship aims to make college more affordable for full-time and part-time Moorpark College students who are currently employed.

Applicants and interested parties are encouraged to contact ASMC Director of Academic Affairs Arushi Mathur at ASMCAcademicAffairs@vcccd.edu with questions they have about the Earn & Learn Scholarship eligibility criteria or its writing prompts.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Applicant must be currently employed AT LEAST part-time in a job or in an internship (paid or unpaid)
• Major: Any major 
• Minimum GPA: No minimum required   
• Student Status: Can either be continuing at Moorpark College or transferring to a 4-year university in the upcoming academic year      
• Enrollment: Either full-time or part-time, Moorpark College as primary campus of attendance
• Credits: enrolled in at least 3.0 units at the time of application
• Attach resume 
• Attach unofficial transcript 
• Upload special essay 

Special Essay Upload: 
Provide an original response to each of the following prompts, with responses being no longer than 350 words each:

1. What motivated you to pursue work alongside your studies, and how has it influenced your academic or career goals?
2. Describe a typical day balancing work and school. What strategies do you use to manage your time?
3. How would receiving the Earn & Learn Scholarship contribute to your success?

Award:
$500 - up to 10 recipients will be selected. Award covers tuition and fees only at Moorpark College or at transfer institution for fall 2025.

In addition to completing an application through the Moorpark College Foundation Scholarship Application,
applicants must provide an original response to 2 out of 3 of the following prompts, with each response being
no longer than 350 words:

1. Describe a challenge you've faced as an undocumented, refugee, or international student. How has it impacted your educational journey?
2. How did your experiences (indirect or direct) growing up influence the student you are today?
3. Describe a person, class, or program at Moorpark College that has had a significant impact on you.

Award: $1,000 - up to 8 recipients will be selected. Award covers tuition and fees only at Moorpark College or at transfer institution for fall 2025.

Yes, students may apply for each ASMC Scholarship for which they are eligible.

What is the deadline to apply for the ASMC Scholarships?
The Moorpark College Foundation Spring 2025 Scholarship is open now until January 31, 2025.

What are the next steps after I have submitted my ASMC Scholarship materials to the MC Scholarship Office?
An Associated Students of Moorpark College (ASMC) ad hoc Scholarship Selection Committee, comprised of students and possibly other campus community members, will conduct a blind review and evaluation of the scholarship applications and, as a group, identify the top applicants to receive the scholarship based on the application criteria and applicants' materials submitted.

When will I know if I have been selected for an ASMC Scholarship?
Students will be notified near the end of the spring semester whether they were selected for this opportunity.
