Delta Alpha Pi International Honor Society (DAPi) is an academic honor society founded to recognize high-achieving college students with disabilities. DAPi celebrates and supports academic achievement, leadership, and advocacy for post-secondary students with disabilities. Moorpark College formally created its campus's chapter, Zeta Tau, in 2020.
Who can join DAPi?
While any student can become a general member of the DAPi organization at Moorpark College, to be formally inducted into the international honor society, students must self identify as an individual with a disability, have completed at least 24 units, demonstrate an interest in disability issues, and have a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average of at least 3.10.

Students who meet the Program Grade Point Average (GPA criteria (3.25 unweighted high school GPA OR a college GPA of 3.00 with at least 12 units of transferable college-level courses) and who attend a mandatory Honors Program orientation may join.

Honors students take on leadership roles and are part of a team of motivated learners. They work closely with each other and their instructors to explore and research a variety of subjects and special topics in unique ways. Nathan Bowen has been active in campus life! He has served in a variety of roles in addition to Honors Program Coordinator, including Academic Senate Secretary and Vice President, Sabbatical Committee Co-Chair, Co-Chair of Education Committee on Accreditation and Planning (EdCAP), Co-Chair of Study Aboard Advisory Committee, Co-Chair of District Instructional Technology Advisory Committee (ITAC), and student club advisor.
Giselle Ramirez began her career as a student assistant in the counseling office at Moorpark College shortly after graduating high school. While a student assistant, Giselle grew a passion for helping students and knew that she had found the career for her.
Giselle completed her AA in General Studies at Moorpark College and transferred to CSU, Northridge where she completed her Bachelor degree in Sociology and her Master degree in Counseling. She has had the pleasure of working with several student populations including EOPS, Veterans and Athletes and now supports students in the Honors Program. Giselle enjoys helping students reach their educational goals, but when she isn't busy doing that, she loves to spend time with her family, to travel, and to salsa dance!
Moorpark College Leadership Education and Development for Students (MC L.E.A.D.S.) is a noncredit, extracurricular program designed to help students develop soft skills needed to excel in professional or academic settings and to shape them as emergent leaders.
MC L.E.A.D.S. offers engaging and interactive workshops that aid Moorpark College students in fostering skills that will help them succeed as students, employees, and leaders, both during their time at MC and beyond.

In addition to developing leadership and professional skills that will help set them up for success, students who attend a specified number of sessions offered by the MC L.E.A.D.S. program can qualify to receive a Certificate of Recognition, a Custom Medallion or Graduation Cord, a Transcript Notation, denoting their involvement in the Program, and a Letter of Recommendation* that explains the student's involvement in the program (*letter is a form template).

No, this extracurricular program is offered free of charge to currently enrolled Moorpark College students.

The National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) is an organization that provides a life-changing leadership program that helps students achieve personal growth, career success, and empowers them to have a positive impact in their communities. With 736 chapters, the NSLS currently has 1,540,622 members nationwide.
How do I join the NSLS?
Moorpark College will be chartering its own official NSLS chapter in spring 2022. Students who meet chapter eligibility requirements will automatically receive an email invitation, soliciting their involvement.
What are the benefits to joining the NSLS?
Mentorship and learning opportunities, access to exclusive scholarships and awards, and invitations to community events are just some of the benefits offered to NSLS members.

Is there a cost associated with joining this leadership society?
NSLS members pay a one-time fee of $95 when applying to join the organization. The fee includes all membership benefits and partner discounts. Membership does not expire or need renewal.

Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK) is an honor society specifically for high-achieving community college students. PTK has existed for over 100 years and has over 3.5 million members around the world. PTK is the only honor society named by the American Association of Community Colleges as an official honor society for two-year colleges.
What are the eligibility requirements to join PTK?
Moorpark College students who have completed at least 12 units and who have earned a 3.50 Grade Point Average or higher are eligible to be inducted into PTK.
How do I join PTK?
Students who meet the induction requirements of the Moorpark College PTK Beta Sigma Rho chapter automatically receive an email invitation to join. The email invitation includes instructions on how to become a lifelong inductee.
Does it cost money to join PTK?
Yes, there is a one-time $60 membership fee to join PTK.

The Moorpark College President's Student Leadership Forum (PSLF) introduces students to extraordinary leaders across various sectors such as government, corporate, non-profit, and professional sports, among others. The PSLF is led by Moorpark College President Dr. Julius Sokenu, and it provides students with opportunities to learn from campus and local community leaders while allowing them to develop their own understanding of exemplary leadership.

What are the benefits to participating in the PLF?
In addition to furthering your understanding of what it takes to be a successful leader across a variety of sectors, students who attend the minimum requisite number of sessions are eligible for a certificate of participation, recognition medal, and a letter of recommendation from President Sokenu.
The PSLF is not offered for unit credit.
