MC L.E.A.D.S. sessions will take place in person on Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. during the fall 2024 semester.
Sessions are scheduled to occur in the Campus Center Conference Room (meeting room located at the back of the dining area in the Campus Center).
Session topics and dates are being determined. In addition to the finalized sessions listed below, it is anticipated that remaining/tentative dates will focus on cultural humility, ethical decision-making for student leaders, conflict management and how to have crucial conversations, and/or advocacy 101 for students.

SESSION 1: SEPTEMBER 6
INTRODUCTION TO L.E.A.D.S.
Learn about expectations and student learning outcomes related to the Moorpark College Leadership Education and Development for Students program. Workshop also includes an icebreaker and an activity about various student leadership development theories. Presented by Kristen Robinson, MC Student Life & Engagement.
SESSION 2: SEPTEMBER 20
NETWORKING ON AND OFF CAMPUS: SKILLS AND HOW-TOS FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS
Job Placement Specialists Kirsten Vassie and Lizette Lomelicruz will run through basic techniques on how to network to advance one's career. Kirsten and Lizette will teach networking fundamentals that will be applicable across multiple job sectors for students and emergent professionals. TIME MANAGEMENT SKILLS

ADVOCACY 101 FOR STUDENT LEADERS
Advocacy skills help leaders build coalitions to take action around issues impacting them. Learning to advocate helps with leadership development by fostering clear and persuasive communication skills. Presented by Kristen Robinson, MC Student Life & Engagement.
SESSION 5: NOVEMBER 1
ETHICAL DECISION-MAKING FOR STUDENT LEADERS
Ethical leadership and behavior contributes to the wellbeing of an organization and team. Participants will learn about some of the ethical dilemmas facing student leaders and collaborate to make decisions related to ethical scenarios. Presented by Kristen Robinson, MC Student Life & Engagement.
SESSION 6: NOVEMBER 15
